Packaged sewage treatment plants using MBBR or MBR technology with tertiary polishing, producing treated water suitable for gardening, flushing and cooling tower make-up.

Any beverage plant above a modest headcount will be asked by the state pollution control board for on-site sewage treatment as a condition of consent-to-operate. Rather than treat it as a compliance cost, most of our clients recover the treated water for gardening, toilet flushing and cooling tower make-up, which meaningfully cuts fresh water draw. We supply MBBR systems for cost-sensitive installations and MBR where the treated water quality needs to be high enough for reuse inside the premises.

Common questions.

MBBR or MBR for a beverage plant?+

MBBR is cheaper to build and run and is sufficient if you are discharging to a sewer. MBR gives you a much better effluent that can be reused inside the plant, which usually pays back through reduced fresh water draw in water-stressed districts.

Is an STP mandatory for a bottling plant?+

It depends on your headcount, discharge volume and state pollution board conditions. Most beverage plants above a modest size get it as a consent condition. We scope it during the plant layout stage so the civil provision is made from the start.
